To believe or not to believe, that is NOT the question …
Beliefs have held back humanity, and are still holding back humanity to the stage it was 3000 years ago.
Some 3000 years ago a common-bandit and giant-defeating-magician, David, made himself Bishop, General, and Banker, and as such signed a “covenant” with the gods themselves (wow!), and man started “believing”. Big mistake. Believing in Bishops, Generals, and Bankers just because you have been told to do so is good for them, but it is not good for you.
(By the way, your friend David committed adultery with Bathsheba, and he also had her heroic husband Uriah eliminated, so let’s hope that you in your deep beliefs do not act in the same way as that lurid B-G-B David did …)
Belief is never knowledge, and beliefs always rely on speculation, superstition, or pure ignorance.
If you tell me “I believe Karl is at home”, that is indeed a “true” statement (you do BELIEVE that Karl is at home), but the fact that it is true that you do BELIEVE that Karl is at home, that fact does not make it true that Karl actually IS at home. Confused?
Confused, certainly, because the theory of beliefs is doing just that, it is supposed and intended to make you confused. Super-confused! That is exactly what Bishops, Generals, and Bankers (B-G-B) want. They want to confuse you to make you BELIEVE. Not KNOW. Know nothing. Just BELIEVE. BELIEVE in anything that comes from B-G-B, churches-armies-banks, gods-bombs-gold.
B-G-B know that 80% of people are ignorant and stupid, and B-G-B want it exactly that way. So they keep you and your kids always ignorant and stupid, in a constant status of stupor, confusion, ignorance, and belief.
Wisdom? Never. Knowledge? The devil. Culture? Only acceptable level of culture is Lady-Gaga-Make-me-Gag. Or baseball or football or basketball, ball ball ball, really really stupid, just for you.
So, your “belief” is your mental attitude of acceptance of a proposition. The fact that the proposition is false is irrelevant, B-G-B just want you to believe. B-G-B stimulate your emotional attitude, and want your blind faith-based approval without any form of validation or testing. The horror is that often you base important decisions on this false belief in this false proposition. And the fact that B-G-B are in bad-faith only for the purpose of preserving their privileges at your expense, that fact will never be made known to you. That fact will never be clear to you. You are just the useful-idiot. And if you believe them, indeed you are an idiot.
Validation of a belief would require proving that the belief is in accordance with the evidence, some evidence, any evidence. But B-G-B do not let you look for evidence, they intimidate you, they terrorize you, they humiliate you, they create shortages around you, they create fear, they fire you, they even kill you, if necessary, or kill your dog, or kill your kids.
So, is that “Karl” at home? Call him on the phone, and you will find out. But B-G-B never let you call. And they will never let you call, and your kids will never call. And you with all your dogs and kids will live a life of ignorance, of squalor, of fear, surrounded by stupid TV-“reality”-shows and by empty beliefs.
You, you are just a sad sap, BELIEVE me!
