Both major measures of foreclosure activity fell in January, according to the San Diego County Assessor’s Office.

Trustee deeds — the final step in the foreclosure process, transferring ownership from the delinquent borrower back to the lender or to a third party — were filed in January on 780 properties, 12.26 percent fewer than in December and 25.99 percent less than January 2011.

Notices of default (NOD), which initiate the foreclosure process by registering that a borrower is in arrears of payment, fell 3.47 percent from December to January, and 24.82 percent from January 2011 to January 2012.

Lenders issued NODs to 1,530 borrowers in January, down from 1,585 in December and 2,035 in January 2011.

While the declines in notices are a “hopeful indicator” for 2012, the recovery is going to be a slow process, said Mark Riedy, executive director for the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego.

“I think lenders have been tough enough on borrowers. They’re working their way through problem loans and will continue to do so,” Riedy said. “People I talk to in residential real estate are not optimistic for 2012 — but they expect it to be less of a bad year than last year.”

He said he expects notices of default to continue to decline year after year and the major issue driving foreclosure rates is job growth.

“I think the economy will add some jobs in 2012 and that will help people make payments,” Gin said. “Allowing the people to refinance at the low rates we have today would be helpful … The president proposed programs that would make it easier for people to qualify — something along those lines would be helpful.”

The portion of the Universe that is known to us is 100 Billion light-years in diameter, and the most-distant Stellar object that has been observed in the Universe is 13 Billion light-years away.

The Universe is virtually-empty Space (with only about one atom per-cubic-meter in it), and with Stellar and Interstellar material floating-around at-random in the long-term, with entire Galaxies forming, colliding, and reforming.

There are as many as 170 Billion Galaxies, just like or Milky-Way, that are visible or known to us, in one form or another, and some of these Galaxies contain up to 100 Trillion Stars each, with many of their Stars surrounded by multiple-Planets, just like the Sun in our Solar-System.

Our Milky-Way contains some 400 Billion Stars, and the next Star closest to our Sun is Proxima-Centauri, 4 light-years away from us. So even travelling at the speed-of-light (at 700 Million miles-per-hour), a space-ship would need 4 years to get there.

And the Milky-Way measures 100,000 light-years across, and slowly completes a full-rotation over the course of 200 million years.

The next Galaxy closest to our Milky-Way is Andromeda, 2 Million light-years away from us. All stars move and rotate endlessly over endless Time, according to recurring-patterns or totally at-random, pushed by collisions and explosions, and pulled by gravitational, electromagnetic, and radioactive forces.

Israelites, christendom, and islamists all claim that all this was once “created” by the gods: that bogus “belief” is far from being an even slightly reasonable form of knowledge, and is obviously bull-shit, and nobody “believes” that mega-crap anymore.

But many idiotic-superstitious quasi-astronomers, and some moronic-religious pseudo-scientists, still claim that a “god” sent-off a “Big-Bang” some 13 Billion years ago, a “Big-Bang” that would have “created” the Universe and all the Stellar-Matter in it.

The “Big-Bang” is a visibly-absurd assertion, as the known-portion of the Universe is known to be 50 Billion light-years in radius, and so those distant objects could not have traveled a distance of 50 Billion light-years in just 13 Billion years after the alleged-“Big-Bang”.

A “Big-Bang” might very well have occurred some 13 Billion years ago, as gigantic-explosions do indeed occur routinely in various parts of the Universe, and an enormous-explosion or galactic-collision might very well also have caused the formation of our minuscule Solar-System and of our small Galaxy, but that covers only a minimal portion of the endless Universe

Those creationist “gods” are fiction for the fools. Time and Space are eternal and infinite, have always existed, and always will exist, with Stellar-Matter floating-around in Time and Space, like dust in an empty room.

Time and Space are the only absolute objective valid concepts that we have and know. Everything else is relative, including false-subjective-“truths”, non-existing-fantasy-“gods”, and absurdly-concocted-“beliefs”.

By-the-by, the energy of our own Sun will expire in another 5 Billion years. So, so-long, good-bye!

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Iran is capable of carrying out military strikes on U.S. interests all around the world if the Islamic Republic is attacked by the United States, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow said on Wednesday.

The United States has tried to force Tehran to scrap sensitive nuclear work by imposing sanctions targeting Iran’s central bank and giving U.S. banks new powers to freeze Iranian government assets.

Iran’s ambassador to Moscow said that the United States would be making a serious mistake, akin to suicide, if it risked a military strike on OPEC’s No. 2 oil exporter.

Washington has announced no such plans, but has said a military option is always on the table if Iran cannot be otherwise prevented from developing atomic weapons.

“The Americans know what kind of country Iran is. They are well aware of our people’s unity,” Iranian ambassador Seyed Mahmoud-Reza Sajjadi told a news conference in Moscow.

“And that’s why Iran is fully able to deliver retaliatory strikes on the United States anywhere in the world,” he said, speaking through an interpreter.

“Even if it attacks, we have a list of counter actions. (The United States) would be disappointed with their huge mistake.”

Iran has increasingly issued threatening statements against the West in recent weeks as tension has increased over its uranium enrichment program, which it moved last month to a mountain bunker better protected from possible air strikes.

Iran says its nuclear program is peaceful while Western powers fear Tehran is trying to build a nuclear bomb.

“The issue of a military attack from America on the Islamic Republic of Iran has been on the agenda for several years,” said Sajjadi, adding that Iran would never strike first.

Iran has warned its response to any such strike would be “painful,” threatening to target Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf, along with closing the Strait of Hormuz used by one third of the world’s seaborne oil traffic.

Russia, the world’s biggest energy producer, opposes further U.N. Security Council sanctions over Tehran’s nuclear program and has sharply criticized U.S. and European Union sanctions.
